The CFS™ Approach - Seminar - Middlesex ~ 2nd November 2017

The Communication Friendly Spaces™ Approach: An Evening Seminar presented by Elizabeth Jarman.

2nd November 2017, Echelford Primary School, Park Road, Ashford, Middlesex, TW15 1EX. Registration and coffee from 6pm, seminar 6.30-8.30pm.

The Communication Friendly Spaces™ Approach (CFS™) focuses on ways that the environment can be used to develop communication skills, emotional well-being and physical development. Elizabeth Jarman says, “It’s so important to connect the physical space with your vision for the children. It’s essential to see the environment from the child’s perspective and create developmentally appropriate, meaningful learning spaces, which reflect their preferred contents for learning.”

The CFS™ Approach involves a great deal more than merely altering the appearance of a learning space. Understanding the theoretical base is key. During this challenging session, Elizabeth will share many images and some short video clips, to demonstrate ways that professionals working in a variety of contexts have reviewed their environments to make them more enabling. Key strands of Elizabeth’s research will be highlighted, for example:

• Maximising the use of space to set the context for learning

• Effective storage and resource management

• Resources ‘worth investigating’

• The impact of noise

• Informed use of colour

• The effects of light

£35.00 per place including a free CFS™ Handbook (worth up to £25) if paid when booked online or over the phone (01233 822193) by card. £40 per place if an invoice is requested.
